ETIM xChange available

Dear

We would like to inform you ETIM xChange is now available for import and export within 2BA. ETIM xChange is the first-ever standard for the exchange of product and trade item data that is fully managed by ETIM International. ETIM xChange is based on the European Master Data Guidelines (EMDG) taking into account national exchange standards such as the Dutch DICO, BMEcat and FAB-DIS formats.

ETIM xChange

The exchange format is based on JSON, including JSON schema for validation. With ETIM xChange, companies can easily exchange data via the 2BA data pool, which significantly promotes collaboration and efficiency in the sector. The complete documentation of ETIM xChange 1.1 (release 2024-08-23) can be found in the ETIM International downloadsection.

Environmental indicators

Unfortunately, the Dutch requirements of environmental indicators have not yet been determined. It is known that the set included in the current version (1.1) of ETIM xChange does not fit sufficiently. As soon as the requirements package has been formalized, this will mean a change within ETIM xChange and therefore also in the 2BA data model, the import and export routine and display within Unifeed. It therefore also means that 2BA currently imports the current indicators but does not actively monitor them.

Mapping and 2BA business rules

The complete mapping and associated rules to the 2BA Data model can be found within the 2BA documentation.
Developing a JOSN message based on a schema and its associated rules is a task that requires JSON specialization. We recommend to hire a software company with sufficient JSON knowledge. There are also several PIM softwareparties affiliated with 2BA who export a valid dataset via an efficient route so that you can easily make your valuable data available to your relations via 2BA.

Do you have a validated ETIM xChange file? Please deliver this as quickly as possible. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact your internal contact person at 2BA.
