| The demand for uniform, digital product information is always increasing. Both wholesalers and end users are placing increasingly higher demands on the quality of the product data supplied by manufacturers. A logical consequence is the number of product-related data fields and attachments within the technology sector has grown strongly in recent years. Just consider additional information regarding environmental aspects such as sustainability, CO2 footprint, circularity and packaging information. | ![]() |
The Data Requirements Overview 2025 has been updated and expanded with a number of new data fields. We would like to advise to make an inventory and further expand your product and trade item data on 2BA as soon as possible. Various experts in the construction and technology sector are working hard on a new series of environmental data and indicators, in which 2BA is also closely involved. As soon as these requirements has been determined, we will inform you immediately so that you can meet this essential data request as quickly as possible. Of course you can already publish EPD attachments for your products, various manufacturers such as Novellini Benelux, Geberit, ABB, Signify, Aalberts integrated piping systems and Nexans have already done this.
In addition to your regular products, the availability of data for parts and accessories also plays an essential role or your customers. For various parts and accessories, separate product classes are available within the ETIM classification. However, it may happen that a specific class is not (yet) available or an existing product class is not suitable enough for your parts/accessories. In that situation it is not the intention that the part is classified in a somewhat adequate product class. There is a good chance that not all (necessary) technical characteristics can be filled, which means that your components will be difficult or impossible to find, which will be detrimental to your score on the Data Label.
TIP: You can easily specify/make parts findable via the product reference ‘Part of…’. If your PIM software supports this option, the data will be exported and available within the data pool and search engine 2BA Unifeed. If the product reference is correctly made, the part will also be recognized as a part and will count as ‘classified’ for the score of your Data Label.
For some time now, these outdated data exchange standards does not offer sufficient options to offer a complete dataset that complies the needs of your customers’. We would like to remind that as of May 1, 2025 it will be no longer be possible to offer datasets to 2BA in the exchange formats PAB and INSBOU003. If you are still using one of these outdated data exchange formats, we advise you to contact one of 2BA’s (premium) software partners as soon as possible.
